Here a young lady will mention the actor being a super hero or really a SuperCrip in how he uses a cane. Now if he or anyone used a cane daily, and I have myself nothing you learn to do with it is super anything. I mean leave a monkey with a stick or cane and have food only reachable with that cane or stick, and oddly enough even if the monkey used it for walking. It would learn to also use it to reach its food, and in effect work through things.
It is annoying to see that some of the things people with disabilities do to get on with life need to be highlighted as some super power.
I am happy that TV producers are willing to show people with disabilities, but they need to really also show the wheelchair bound Dr's who also do surgery from them, or an Autistic Lawyer, and more.
We need to see people being people who also have disabilites.
The disability I see most often is we do not have a common voice, a resource where we gather, as in ALL of us who are people with disabilities and start showing our world as we live it to the world.
I mean like able bodied people have exclusive rights to report the news on a global nature, and or run and own a TV Network...
Why can we not start here FOR FREE, I mean if you all own the cameras, the software, the hardware right now anyway where you live at... Why not then report the news you post to a blog, YouTube, Main Stream News Media, and more... Just post it here.
If we just come together and you report or cover the projects you like... Say you like Comedy - So I will set up a Comedy Channel/Forum here for all your work.
If someone likes to host online radio podcasts, and such like - Fine you can have your own spot as well.
What I am trying to do is unlike anything you or anyone has seen to date.
If we start making this our spot to first announce the information imortant to us... And, share the link with others... As we grow and of course if you have a main site, or blog, or YouTube channel you want linked to well yes we will do this also.
The idea is on the Global front this is our town square. The center dort of where we bring bigger issues that need more attention than a local resource alone can cover. Of course I want this to link to all of you, as so say I from Rochester, NY find someo organization local to me online can then link to them from here, and become a regular person at my local site.
If you are from India, and say someone else from India found your site from here, and or you found the product you needed thanks to the India connection here, imagine how many people can find things they need.
Sadly we can not keep expecting more, and change, and help from the able bodied world if they can not hear or see us... Think this over.
If say no news was ever invented who would find out anything? If not one resource from offline to online ever spoke of anything... No one would know when something important was in need of attention. In many respects the people in the disabled side of the coin face this now.
Our little attempts to have a show on people in our world is a great effort, and I love it. You know I can not or would not ever have found them if not for me actively hunting them down. I am in the US, and they are in NZ... Oddly I do not ever get NZ TV on my tube. I happen to rather enjoy what I found.
Same with all the other places of the globe, sadly I can locate news of all of them on many news resources, however NOTHING at all about our world.
In case anyone reads this, if you wonder why we are treated as we are... We more or less need to as able bodied people do and did naturally gravitate towards freely helping each other out.
What could I mean by this freely helping thing? What I started here is 100% FREE for me to set up and run. As such it is 100% free for all of you to freely use to post news.
Why not set up your own copy idea of this? Go for it. However, please note that we will continue being scattered all over, and lost as to where one should look online for help.
I do not want to be the only support for our world. But, when someone Googles or seraches this word: Disability and or Disabled I want to be one of the TOP 3 of all search engines.
Why do that? Well first I want anyone to know they can come here to report news they can not anyplace else. Also, they will then notice all of your sites, organizations, and all the other resources to be located from one easy to use spot.
My idea get the news here, some people will hang out as regulars here that is cool. But, my dream is to bring them to YOU. Yes, to YOUR website, your company, your organizations. I want them to locate as many local to them resources as humanly possible so they do not face the dreaded: WHAT DO I DO NOW? Or WHERE DO I TURN TO NOW? Fact of life we all faced and will face.
