Also on disaboom is this: The issue is real where people who are 100% healthy physically either want to live disabled, have themselves paralyzed, or ampuatated and or many other things done to leave them otherwise disabled.

Medical Science is freaked by this, as they do not know why, or what would cause otherwise healthy smart people to want to live this way. However, even if nothing is done to help these people, they will still live life as a disabled person, not to mock or deprive the disabled community of any service(s)... They have this mind set and this is where the medical sciences are now looking into is the mechanisms if the mind that bring on these rather intersting conditions.

I forgot the name of this condtion, but it seems to be more of a mental illness than that of the physical one.

I was surfing websites when I came across a site devoted to people like this, and they shared what it is like for them to be on that side of the coin, and even realize they are treated much worse than the rest of the disabled population where we have physical issues that make us disabled... They know it is freaky to want to be disabled, it is not so much they want to be that way any more than anyone with a disability wants it.

But, they do live amoung us, and are a real concern to the medical professionals who come across them...

My advice ad frustrated I got when I intitially found the website for them, is to welcome them here as we would any other disabled people.

As we of the disabled world know... Disability comes in all types, styles, and sometimes we can not even define how, or why some happen...

Please do not treat them like they are trying to trick anyone from what I read, they just feel isolated even more than we do, if that is able to happen. But, please respect each others rights as people, and most of all we are here to support each other as best we can.

PS: I may not understand it fully myself, or claim to be happy about it, but the people it affects are just as human as you and I are, and we can at least be civil.
